WHO WE ARE

DIRECTOR

Ali is from Tanzania and has graduated from Charles Darwin University with a Bachelor of Accounting with also a qualification in Business Studies from the University of Greenwich.

During his studies, Ali was very engaged in the student and wider community, as a Peer Assisted Study Session leader, a tutor for the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Support, represent the Undergraduate student cohort at the Academic Board of Charles Darwin University and selected as the student representative in the Appeals Committee.

Additionally, Ali was appointed a StudyNT Student Ambassador, Executive Assistance to the National Secretary of the Council of International Students Australia as well as the secretary for the Charles Darwin University Students’ Association.

With the experience and expertise, Ali decided to start a new adventure in his new home the Northern Territory and hopes to work closely to empower local businesses and students.

 CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

 A former international student from Estonia holding qualifications in Business Management and Accounting. 

Manfred has held a number of different roles, from customer service representative to a student support officer, but his latest challenge has been helping SAMAF Accountants & Consultants to get established and help many small NT businesses build a presence in social media, through contributions as the Chief Operating Officer.  

Manfred is an experienced social media marketeer and entrepreneur. Driven by success, he takes pride in providing the finest customer service possible for his clients. As a COO, his goals include helping people achieve in their business endeavours and accomplish operational strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures. 

Based in Darwin, Manfred calls the Northern Territory is a second home. Manfred is best known for his contributions to many small businesses marketing. 

CONSULTANT - TAXATION

David has over 20 years of practical experience in professional practice. He spent over 7 years within two of the Big 4 Accounting firms (Ernst & Young and KPMG) and held managerial positions around Australia and overseas. 

His professional experience includes the provision of all aspects of audit and taxation.

He has broad experience in a wide range of Audits from small and medium (non-profit and profit-making enterprises) to listed entities as well as Self Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) Audits.

David is a Chartered Accountant (a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), an ASIC Registered Company Auditor and an ASIC Registered SMSF Auditor.

CONSULTANT - AUDITOR

Takunda is an audit and advisory professional with over ten years of experience, including many years at Big Four accounting firms. His expertise is not just confined to the private sector; he has also dedicated over five years to Public Sector Agencies, with significant work in the Northern Territory (Australia) and Timor Leste. This diverse international experience showcases his adaptability and deep understanding of various auditing environments.

His academic and professional credentials are a testament to his expertise. Takunda holds a BCompt (Hons) in Accounting and is a respected member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors. His commitment to professional development is further demonstrated by his Post Graduate Diploma in Auditing and certifications as a Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Public Practitioner.

Takunda’s exceptional blend of international experience, robust educational background, and proven professional excellence mark him as a notable figure in the audit and advisory landscape.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Hoang is born in Vietnam and has graduated from Charles Darwin University with a degree in Master of Professional Accounting and a degree in Finance from RMIT University.

During his studying time, he was interested in the finance field and has gained much financial knowledge. However, after further experimenting and contemplation, he decided to get into accounting as his primary profession. 

When he was in Melbourne, he actively volunteered for RMIT and support numerous students with general inquiries about the campus, events and providing them with academic support should they need assistance. As a result, he was awarded RMIT LEAD recognition for contributing to student life quality and leadership in 2017. 

During his time in Darwin, he participated at CDU Tax Clinic, offering help and assistance lodging income tax of fellow students and the Darwin community. Hoang is now a Consultant with SAMAF and works with clients directly. 

GENERAL ACCOUNTANT

Srijana, a highly driven international student from Nepal, recently completed a Master's in Professional Accounting at Charles Darwin University, complementing a prior Master's in Business Administration. 

In addition to their academic achievements, Srijana actively volunteered during the Free Tax organised by Charles Darwin University in collaboration with SAMAF.

With a goal to contribute significantly to the accounting field, Srijana is eager to leverage its education and experiences to ensure financial success for organisations while upholding international accounting standards. 

Poised to embark on a rewarding career with the SAMAF team, Srijana's academic excellence, practical insights, and global perspective position her as a valuable asset for us. 

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Katherine, a Colombian native, embarked on a journey in 2018 to Australia, driven by her pursuit of professional growth, employment prospects, and a desire to immerse herself in diverse cultural experiences. Armed with a robust educational background, she has acquired expertise in Occupational Health and Safety, complemented by a certified proficiency in Business and a diploma in Leadership and Management.

With a solid foundation in Business Administration, Katherine brings a wealth of knowledge and practical skills to her current role. Presently situated in Darwin, she is actively expanding her professional repertoire at SAMAF GROUP, where she serves as an Office Administrator.

GENERAL ACCOUNTANT

Naru is from Nepal and earned her Bachelor's in Accounting from the University of Wollongong. 

During her studies, she was fascinated by business and accounting, which led her to open her own business. 

She learned different sides of financial planning and accounting and saw how proper management of finances makes or breaks the business. 

With all the knowledge and experience she accumulated, she wanted to dig deep into the accounting side, which she spent years perfecting. Now, at SAMAF GROUP, she is helping businesses and individuals as an accountant.

GENERAL ACCOUNTANT

Long Nguyen, a native of Vietnam, is currently pursuing his academic aspirations as an accounting student at Charles Darwin University. Alongside his studies, he is gaining valuable professional experience as an intern at SAMAF.

With a Bachelor of Professional Communication from RMIT, Long brings a unique blend of communication skills and financial acumen to his current academic and professional pursuits. His multidisciplinary background equips him with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information clearly and concisely, a valuable asset in the accounting field.

Driven by a passion for precision and financial acumen, Long is poised to make a meaningful impact as an accountant. With a solid foundation in accounting principles, coupled with practical experience and a commitment to excellence, he is ready to embrace the challenges of the dynamic financial landscape and excel in his future endeavors.

GENERAL ACCOUNTANT

Jamshed Arshad is a Pakistani international student with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.

Jamshed has completed his studies at King’s Own Institute of Sydney and volunteered in many roles as an Intern and Bookkeeper.

Experienced and detail-oriented general accountant with a passion for precision and accuracy. With a solid background in finance and accounting principles, he excels in analysing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. 

His dedication to delivering timely and reliable financial information empowers businesses to make informed decisions and achieve their goals. 

Whether managing accounts payable, reconciling accounts, or providing strategic financial guidance, he strives to add value and drive efficiency in every aspect of his work. He is keen to collaborate to navigate accounting complexities and unlock financial success together.

CONSULTANT

Bernard is from the Philippines and found a new home in Australia. He chose Darwin to enhance his bachelor's degree in accounting further and gained his master's in professional accounting at Charles Darwin University. After completing his studies, he was fortunate to be a volunteer tax advisor in the CDU Tax clinic 2020 and helped unrepresented individuals with their tax affairs. Later he joined SAMAF as a consultant, which magnified his calling and purpose of supporting small to large-scale businesses with accounting variables like tax compliance and comprehensive financial planning.

He's dedicated to advancing his expertise in the field by attending finance and business-related courses on various learning platforms. His foremost goal is to deliver exceptional service, which he believes all his clients deserve.

Bernard is expanding his accounting career here in the NT with 17+ years of experience in individualized dealing with clients' concerns from analyzing, planning, and managing their needs. He believes that "behind every good business is a great accountant".
